• Question: are shampoos all scientifically tested to work? are all products the same but claim to be different??

      They are all slightly different, the chemicals or amounts of chemicals are all different. All shampoos are carefully researched to make sure they not only do the job but also that their not dangerous to use or environmentally damaging. The bit that;s often a bit of a fib in the ads is the ‘supported by the British skin foundation’ type parts. All those foundations and societies are set up by advertisers to help sell their product.

      shampoos are basically soap, so they melt fat, and help mechanical action. But they can’t make hair regrow, or do miracles they often advertise!
      Toothpaste also has mainly the function of easing the mechanical work of a toothbrush, so it does not really prevent caries apart from helping removing little pieces of food.

      All cosmetic products have to be tested to show that they are safe for people to use, and there is a law that says these companies can’t advertise saying their products do something that they can’t prove that it does.
      But the contents of most shampoos are actually very similar, it’s pretty much never worth buying expensive shampoo because it’s really the same as the cheap stuff.
