  eventually, but this assumes that there is no geological activity going on, while we know that for instance the Alps are still growing

  The clifs are eroding, but the plates pushing into each other is making more land. Volcanoes erupting also make more land, briging up lava from the earth’s core. If that didn’t happen there would be no land left already.
