• Question: Did we evolve from apes?

      No. We are closely related to apes, but we didn’t evolve from them. We rather evolved together with them, from a common ancestor some 8 million years ago, but along a different path so that today we are we, and apes are apes.

      We evolved from what are called the Great Apes, so did the other species of apes that we have on our Earth today like chimpanzees and gorillas. This happened about 15 million years ago. But we did not evolve from chimpanzees or gorillas, we just have the same ancestor.

      We evolved from primates I beleive. Two branches of the same tree.
