I’m afraid I’m not the kind of physicist who looks into space at other planets, so I’ve only ever seen aliens in the movies 😉
An interesting thought though is that there are billions of galaxies out there in space, and each one of those galaxies contains billions of stars, and some of those stars have planets orbiting around them, so what are the chances that another one of those planets has life on it?

I’m pretty sure that no one has seen aliens on a different planet yet. We would have heard about it if they had! But in the last few years we have started to be able to see planets around other stars in our galaxy. Some of those planets look quite a lot like the Earth, so it’s possible that we might start to see signs of life on other planets.

Nope. People are looking though. There’s the Search for ExtraTerrestrial Intellegence (SETI) which sifts through all the radio emissions of the galaxies, looking for an alien equivalent of ‘The Archers’.
A few decades ago, they thought they’d found alien transmissions; a regular pulse of radio from deep space. They named the source an LGM (Little Green Men). Turns out it was something called a pulsar, a star that’s spinning many hundred times a second and throws out a regular radio pulse.
