• Question: how could the rings of Saturn dissapearing affect the solar system

      Hmm… I’m not sure. I shouldn’t think it would make a huge difference to the solar system, but it might make a difference to Saturn. I think it would effect the moons more. There are a fair few in the rings and there are loads of effects due to the moon and rings pulling on each other.

      We don’t know a huge amount the rings as it is. We’re not sure exactly where they came from (moon that blew up? Asteroid?) or why Saturn has such a big ring (though in some places it’s only 10m thick!)
