      There are about 1000000000000 (trillion) stars in a galaxy 100000000000 (0.1 trillion) galaxies in the universe. So that’s about a quadrillion stars in total. That’s a 1 followed by 23 zeros (100000000000000000000000). So… lots.

      For every grain of sand on the planet there are one hundred thousand stars. Many of them are so far away the earth will never even see them.
