• Question: Kepler 22b is meant to be a new earth. Can I ask waht galxy it is in? How far away are we from it? And for a long shot is it possible that life can be sustained on it?

Kepler 22b is in this galaxy. We can only find planets in our own galaxy so far. It’s in what’s called the Goldilocks zone, which is the area around a star where liquid water can exist (not so cold it freezes, not so hot it boils. It’s juuuust right). Gravity there is about 100 times stronger than on Earth and we don’t know if it’s a gas planet like Jupiter, rock like earth or even mostly liquid. It’s the most likely planet we’ve found to have life on, but there’s still a small chance that it will. We need to do more tests though.
