      We don’t really know, this is one of the big mysteries about our universe that we’re trying to understand.

      No one knows, but somethig very dense and small with all the mass and energy of the universe blew up. This left over all the matter in the univerese in conditions very much unlike what they are today. Under those conditions (very hot, dense) physics works a bit different which is why we need places like the LHC to work out what was going on
