• Question: What is the biological basis of consciousness?

      I don’t know. And II suspect neither does anyone else. Consciousness is a remarkable feat, and that creatures can evolve to such a point, as we clearly have, is quite frankly amazing.

      I don’t know, I’m not sure anyone does. I’m sure that people even agree on what they mean by consciousness!
      We don’t understand how our brains work very well yet. But there are lots of scientists trying to find out. New technologies like MRI scanners mean that we can study the brain and how it works with out having to cut anyone’s head open!

      I’m not sure. Not sure any one knows. The brain is a complicated beasty. everything works with everything else and the end result is what we see, feel and experience.
