It doesn’t really, the Earth is the one rotating around its axis so there are times when you point towards the sun and see it (day), times when you’ll be pointing away (night), and all other possible combinations in between, every 24h or so, making the sun apear as if it rises and lowers.

The earth is rotating. As it turns away from the sun, it sets as it spins back round to face it the sun rises.

When we see the sun rising, it’s not actually the sun that’s moving, it’s the earth that is moving. The earth spins, so sometimes the UK is pointing toward the sun (this is daytime), and sometimes the UK is pointing away from the sun (this is night-time). As the earth spins round from night-time to daytime, it looks to us as thought the sun is rising, but it’s really just the earth spinning.
