We’d all be wiped out pretty dramatically. Remember the meteorite with supposedly made the dinosaurs disappear was much much smaller than the moon!

The moon and earth would be pretty much destroyed. We would certainly all be dead. Actually what would probably happen is that the earth and the moon would squash together and form a new planet, although they might also just break apart and create a new asteroid belt in the solar system.

Thankfully it doesn’t seem likely that the moon is going to crash into the earth any time soon. In fact the earth and the moon are actually moving apart by a few millimetres each year.

All life would be destroyed for one. The atmosphere would heat up enormously, possibly boil the ocean. The earth’s axis would probably be knocked off a bit as well. Tahnkfully that’s not likely. The moon is actually moving away.
