• Question: can you drink liquid nitrogen and if you did, what would happen to you?

      In very little quantities, yes. Nothing would happen, the Nitrogen would just evaporate.
      In moderate to large quantities you’d cause sever frostbite as your moutha and throat would freeze, eventually leading to death.

      nitrogen in itself is not toxic, since it composes about 80% of the air. Liquid nitrogen is at about -190C, so in large quantities it would freeze your throat!

      You can dip your hand into liquid nitrogen (and liquid lead for that matter) really quickly as long as you don’t leave it in their too long. A layer of vapour forms around your hand and stops the heat transferring. You still need to be careful about it though.

      Drinking though… that would freeze your insides. A tiny amount would boil off and you’d just end up with a cloud of nitrogen gas. More than that and insta-freeze time. Not a pleasent thing to happen…
