Does it make my brain hurt? Oh yes. When you get to my stage though you start thinking of things in terms of how many zeros are there so 1000000000000 becomes 12. That makes life much less scary! There are times when it still shocks me though. Like in the entire history of the human race (about 100,000 years) we’ve gone through less than a thousandth of a rotation of the Milky Way. Some people find that depressing, but I think it’s great.

The most amazing thing I’ve seen is the Milky Way, the one that you can see on the sky. It just looks like a milky band across the sky because there are so many stars you can’t tell them apart without a telescope. If you’re ever somewhere where there’s no light pollution and the night is really clear I really suggest looking for it. At least spend a few minutes looking at it. You may see a shooting star, they’re pretty amazing too.
