      The number of watts of an appliance is it’s power. Power is the amount of energy per second that the appliance uses.

      If you know its power in Watts, then its energy consumption is the power in watts multiplied by the amount of time (in seconds) that you want to know the energy consumption for.

      Energy = Power x Time
