      Split them in groups:
      1) Earth-like planets: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars
      2) Gas giants: Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune (these decrease in size with distance from the Sun!)

Remembering each group of 4 should be easy!

I used to use the first letters of the phrase
My Very Easy Method Just Speeds Up Naming Planets
and match these to the names of the planets
Mercury Venus Earth Mars Jupiter Saturn Uranus Neptune Pluto

Now I have to remember to stop before the end, because Pluto isn’t a planet any more!

Its a bit out of date. Pluto was still a planet when I was at school.
