      It reaches a temperature about 100000 times hotter than the centre of the sun, but only in a space smaller than an atom. An interesting fact is that all the magnets in the LHC are kept so cold that they are actually colder than outer space. So the LHC contains one of the hottest places in the universe, and also one of the coldest places in the universe!
