At the moment I’m trying to work out how loads of very far away galaxies are arranged on the sky. That will tell us a lot about how the universe is made up and how it was created.

I’m trying to understand precisely how atoms and solid materials interact with extremely intense, hard X-ray radiation. The materials are heated to millions of degrees on incredibly short timescales and eventually explode, but by being clever we can learn about whats going on before they’re pulverised!

I’m trying to understand what is making the expansion of our universe speed up. Our current theories of physics say that the expansion should be slowing down, so there is a big mystery here!
