It’s a way of trying to understand the world around us, make predictions on whats going to happen and how, and ultimately be able to enjoy the beauty and complexity of nature on the most intimate level.

Science is looking at the world and asking ‘how does that work’ or ‘why does that happen’ and then going away and trying to find it out for yourself.

Science is about trying to understand how the world works. There are lots of things that happen that we don’t really understand. What science does is try to make models of what we think is going on, and then we test that against what we see. If they don’t agree we try to come up with a new model, and keep going until we find one that matches everything we see. But there can always be new data that mean that your model is not right, so science keeps you on your toes!
