  The Higgs Boson is a particle (something smaller than an atom) that we think should exist, but no one has ever see one before. If the Higgs Boson does exist, then it gives things their mass. Currently we don’t know for sure why anything has mass! But the Higgs Boson is our best idea, so we’re trying to find out if it’s real or not.
